The Conference of Mennonites in Canada Yearbook 1928-2000 was produced by the “Konferenz der Mennoniten in Canada,” which began at a meeting of church leaders from the Manitoba Bergthaler Mennonite churches and the Rosenorter Mennonite Churches in Rosthern, SK in 1902. The first annual meeting took place in Hochstadt, Manitoba in 1903. This regional body grew from a regional group 36 congregations in 1907 to 136 by 1927 with representation from BC to Ontario. The name changed to the Conference of Mennonites in Canada and is today (2023) represented by Mennonite Church Canada.
This organization encouraged like-minded churches to work together to accomplish more than they could on their own. The annual yearbooks recorded activities, decisions, issues, and events with the conference. The yearbooks were first written in German, followed by a length transition of German and English starting in 1954, English and German, to all English by 1979.
